"Growing in Service"
ASTRA is an international community service organization for youth and young adults sponsored and supported by local Altrusa Clubs.
ASTRA is an acronym for:
Ability to know that all of us have special talents to share with others
Service to improve the lives of those less fortunate in the community
Training to develop leadership ability and potential
Responsibility to learn to accept obligations and know the satisfaction of carrying projects through to a successful conclusion
Achievement to experience success; to know that a group can accomplish so much more than anyone individual
Are you a young person aged 12 -25 who wants to make a difference in your community?
In ASTRA we believe that age is no barrier to being able to improve the lives of others. No matter how old you are, you have the power to create positive change!
ASTRA provides community service opportunities for youth so that you can use your time and talents to help people. In ASTRA you will form lasting friendships, develop your leadership skills, and interact with other local volunteers on projects of lasting benefit.
An Altrusa club acts as the sponsor for an ASTRA club, which is usually connected to a school. ASTRA includes a wide age range from middle school and high school, to college students. Altrusa International supports ASTRA by recognizing their service through awards, providing scholarships, and issuing graduation cords.
ASTRA opportunities exist for all young adults in Delta County ages 12-25. If you would like more information about joining a club or the service projects in which ASTRA is involved, contact one of the following sponsors:
